In the book The Natural, Roy Hobbs is the main character. I think that Roy is trying to get to the try out but there is this pretty women he likes named Harriet Bird. On the train Roy is with his friend Sam. At the end of the chapter Roy runs into a little bit of trouble when Harriet calls his room telling him to come to her room. Roy is wondering how she knows that he is at the hotel, but before he can ask she hangs up. So Roy thinking its a booty call goes to her hotel room and sees her naked in the corner. He was probably thinking that this is his chance and then she pulls out a gun and shoots him. Roy at this point is thinking to him self what did I get myself into. Finally when Roy gets to his try out he hears this story that changes his perspective about baseball and the story was about the owners career as a baseball player. It changes Roy’s perspective because just one screw up in a game could cost you your career and you reputation like it did for Fisher.
